Europe beyond emotions

When Stjepan Mestrovic has contributed the sociology literature with the concept of “post-emotional”; the “civilized” Western individual was experiencing a simulation of emotions by watching the images of black cormorant covered in oil.

Similar simulations of emotions, in other words, acting like sad or affected continued in Bosnian war, occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan and in the process of Syrian dismantle lately. The “super-man” of the West, who knew everything, was worried, discomforted and said that all those things were unacceptable; but, still, he did nothing for all those disasters by which his interests were not colliding. The unemotional, nonreactive and selfish societies of the modern times which have always referred human rights, have masked the wars created by their governments by the concepts such as dictatorship, democracy and terror.

European Union was established by countries which suffered from the devastation of war, by the principles of negotiation and collaboration around common goals after the World War II. This supranational structure has almost everything today, except for an army. And its launching motto was “unity in difference”, turning into one of the most attractive organizations throughout the history.

This organization, as the Western attitude in almost all political activities is, in a structure “beyond the emotions”. It was going to mention human rights but also involve in the domestic politics of other countries. In other words, EU has tried to establish an order with the progress reports to candidate countries. This magnificent structure was considered as the center of individual rights and freedoms, economic prosperity and wealth until the 2008 crisis and the concept of “being European” had the peak point in the whole world.

A terrific wave of migration and raids of refugees have caused the European Union to effectively use some policies. Power politics appeared as a result of such a requirement; maybe in order to better exploit the oppressed throughout the world. The unclassified three most significant articles of this policy were: 1-Better arrangement of legal migration, 2- strengthening the prevention of irregular migration and 3- increasing the mutual benefits of migration for development to the maximum.

As it can be seen, EU had different goals such as “taking the refugees EU required” (ones more appropriate with integration) by Article 1, “preventing war, poverty and a next wave of migration” by Article 2 and “considering its own interests rather than those directly affected from war, diseases, natural disasters” (win-win) by Article 3.

EU Commission, one of the most effective organs of the EU, has prepared migration policies in order to turn the old EU population a bit younger, to utilize the immigrants by using them like slaves and to fix the worsened economic structure.

Cheap labor force is still the most important aspect of competition since the Industrial Revolution. Interest and profit show us that Europe is still the same since old ages. This is not a conspiracy theory and Le Pen from the National Front in France and Nigel Farage from England Independence Party, with groups in EU Parliament, always mention similar things. In short, extreme rightist groups against the principles EU reveal the dirty secrets of it.

Any individual with an average intelligence can now easily see and understand the meaning of journalists who kick the refugees, cartoons making fun with the refugee girl, people running away from war and poverty being left in the middle of the sea, how the coast security boats of the country famous with its agoras considered as the cradle of civilization sink the boats of refugees. In a world with such a vast communication environment, it is not possible to hide all these things.
